Our Approach to Creating a Beautiful New Smile

Dr. Davidson’s entire goal in giving you a smile makeover is to make you completely satisfied and happy with the result. He tailors your treatment plan to your specific needs and goals for your smile. He uses the latest technology and the highest-quality materials to give you a long-lasting and lifelike smile that you will be proud of.

Smile consultation

Dr. Davidson will consult with you in detail to find out the smile goals you would like to achieve.

Dr. Davidson first consults with you to finds out exactly what you would like to achieve.

As part of the consultation, he can apply some soft white dental material to your teeth to give you a preview of what your new smile would look like. That way you can decide if you are happy with the shape and contours of your new smile before any permanent procedures are performed.

Your custom treatment plan

Once you and Dr. Davidson are completely on the same page with regard to your smile goals, he will go over the available treatment options with you. He will then devise a tailor-made treatment plan to achieve your goals.

One-visit crowns and veneers

Our in-office dental milling system enables Dr. Davidson to provide porcelain crowns and veneers in a single visit.

If new dental crowns, dental bridges or veneers are part of your treatment plan, Dr. Davidson can often provide these in a single visit.

Using our in-house Planmeca® dental design and milling system, he can custom-design and fabricate top-quality porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges while you wait. Depending on the procedures that are part of your treatment, you may be able to complete your entire smile makeover in as few as one or two visits.

Minimally invasive dental laser

If old fillings need to be removed or tooth enamel has to be sculpted into a new shape, Dr. Davidson uses a state-of-the-art dental laser to gently and silently remove the old tooth structure. Use of a laser is more comfortable than using a dental drill, and in most instances no anesthetic is needed while the laser does its work.

Procedures We May Use for Your Smile Makeover

Dr. Davidson has a wide variety of tools at his disposal to create your new smile. The procedures he uses can include:

• Porcelain veneers

  Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain coverings that are bonded to the front of your teeth to change their shape, size and/or color. Dr. Davidson meticulously designs his veneers to be aesthetic and natural-looking. In many instances he can design, fabricate and place veneers in the same day using our in-house dental restoration CAD/CAM manufacturing system.

• Dental crowns

  A dental crown is a porcelain cap that fits over the visible part of your tooth. It is used when your tooth needs cosmetic changes but also needs structural repair. Thanks to our Planmeca CAD/CAM system, Dr. Davidson is often able to design, fabricate and place beautiful porcelain crowns in one visit.

• Dental bonding

  Dental bonding is a tooth-colored resin that can be used to correct minor flaws such as chips, cracks or gaps between teeth. In certain cases, it can also be used to change shape, size and color, but it is not as durable and long-lasting as porcelain veneers. Dr. Davidson can go over your smile goals with you and let you know if dental bonding is an option for what you would like to achieve.

• Dental implants

  If you need to replace one or missing teeth, dental implants are the most durable and long-lasting option. They are considered the modern gold standard of tooth replacement. Implant-supported replacement teeth look, feel and function just like regular teeth and provide excellent chewing power. In most cases, Dr. Davidson is able to perform all stages of dental implant treatment in the comfort of our own office.

• Dental bridges

  A dental bridge is a series of connected crowns that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Although they have certain disadvantages compared to implants, bridges are an option for replacing missing teeth in certain circumstances. Dr. Davidson creates bridges that are very aesthetic and natural-looking, and he can often provide them in a single visit.

• Recontouring your gum line

  If you have an uneven gumline or a gummy smile with too much gum tissue showing, Dr. Davidson can use a gentle dental laser to recontour the gumline around your teeth so it is symmetrical and aesthetic.

• Dentures

  Dr. Davidson provides high-quality full and partial dentures made out of the best material. He offers dentures of different types, including dentures that are digitally designed and milled out of a single block of acrylic. These dentures are much stronger than those made by traditional methods.

Extreme smile makeover

Our active vivacious patient came in with an old tired smile. We wanted to make her smile match her personality and give her a more youthful appearance. To do this we bleached the teeth to brighten the smile and then did four crowns on the front four teeth. After the bleaching, the crowns were done in one visit. She never had to wear unsightly crowns or suffer the embarrassment of losing a temporary crown at work or in public.
