One-Visit Porcelain Veneers in Northfield

Porcelain veneersPorcelain veneers are very thin porcelain facings that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth to change their shape, color or size. They can also be used to close a gap between your teeth and to give mildly crooked teeth the appearance of being straight.

Porcelain veneers are an excellent way to enhance the appearance of your teeth. Dr. Davidson uses very high-quality porcelain to make your veneers extremely natural-looking and aesthetic. And for many patients, he can design, manufacture and place the veneers in just a single visit.

Dr. Davidson is highly trained and experienced in cosmetic dentistry, and in providing veneers in one visit.

Dr. Davidson has had considerable advanced training in cosmetic procedures and has been placing top-quality veneers for more than 30 years. He has been featured for many years as a Top Dentist in both Northern Ohio Life Magazine and in the annual Guide to America’s Top Dentists published by the Consumer Research Council of America.

Dr. Davidson has been using in-office CAD/CAM technology to be able to provide his patients with single-visit veneers since 1997, and he has personally trained hundreds of dentists in how to use this technology in their practice. He will make sure that your veneers are well-designed and durable, and that they complement your features.

Minimal and No-Prep Veneers

Veneers require some tooth preparation before they are placed. A small layer of the front surface of the tooth is removed, so that the veneers will look natural and not add bulk to the teeth.

In certain circumstances, Dr. Davidson can use extremely thin veneers, called minimal-prep or no-prep veneers, to make cosmetic changes to the smile. Minimal-prep veneers require only very little tooth preparation and no-prep veneers require no preparation at all. Dr. Davidson can tell you if these are an option for you after a cosmetic evaluation.

Veneers in One Visit

Veneers in One Visit

Our in-office Planmeca® dental restoration system allows Dr. Davidson to design, manufacture and place most veneers in just one visit.

Using our in-office Planmeca® computerized dental restoration system, porcelain veneers can often be made in our own lab in less than two hours, eliminating the need for a second appointment. This saves time and expense, and relieves you of the discomfort caused by having to wear temporary veneers that later have to be removed.

Dr. Davidson can provide one-visit veneers in most cases. However, depending on your individual circumstances and what you want to change about your smile, it could be that using a local dental lab—where specially trained dental technicians will meticulously craft your veneers—will give you the best results.

For lab-crafted veneers, Dr. Davidson works with a top-flight local dental lab that services dentists all over the country and is known for its beautiful, precision craftsmanship. Dr. Davidson will let you know what he recommends for you after a detailed smile evaluation.

Our Veneers Procedure

Dr. Davidson takes meticulous care at each step of the procedure to ensure your veneers are beautiful and long-lasting, and that you will be completely happy with the results.

Consultation and treatment plan

Following a comprehensive examination, Dr. Davidson will consult with you regarding your goals for your smile. He will show you pictures of previous cosmetic treatment performed in our office to help you determine how you want your new teeth to look in terms of their size, shape and color. The doctor will answer all of your questions and together you will finalize your treatment plan.

Designing your new smile

For more extensive cosmetic treatment, we take digital photos as part of the smile design process.

In many cases, Dr. Davidson can design your new veneers together with you right in the treatment chair. He will carefully apply a temporary dental paste to your teeth and mold it into different shapes to determine the best look.

Once you and he have determined the optimum design, he will take a precise 3D scan of the new shape using our state-of-the-art digital impression scanner. Your new veneers can then be fabricated either in our own office during the same visit, or by our trusted local dental lab, depending on what will provide the best outcome for your case.

For more extensive cosmetic work, Dr. Davidson will take digital photos and a 3D scan of your teeth, and send it to our local lab along with detailed instructions. Using Dr. Davidson’s specifications, the technicians at the lab will then make a full “wax-up” of your new smile—a model that shows exactly what your teeth will look like after treatment. Dr. Davidson will review the wax-up with you and make any necessary adjustments until you are both completely satisfied with the design.

Your beautiful new veneers

Dr. Davidson will ensure that your new smile looks natural and complements your features.

Whether your veneers are made in our own office or at the lab, Dr. Davidson makes sure that they are fabricated to the highest standards. He uses strong, lifelike porcelain to ensure that your veneers will be long-lasting and natural-looking.

Before permanently placing them in your mouth, Dr. Davidson will let you “try in” your new veneers to make sure you are happy with them. He will use a tooth-colored dental paste to temporarily fix your veneers onto your teeth so that you can see how they affect their shape and color. Once you and the doctor are satisfied with the new look of your smile, he will permanently bond your veneers into place, and you will walk out of our office with your beautiful new smile!

Before and Afters

Dental Bonding – An Economical Alternative for Minor Cosmetic Changes

bonding-1smallDental bonding is a tooth-colored resin that is applied to teeth to cover up small cosmetic or structural flaws. In certain circumstances, Dr. Davidson uses dental bonding to close small gaps between teeth, repair chips and cover spots or discolored areas. He sometimes uses bonding to make teeth longer or change their overall shape.

Dental bonding is a quick and economical solution for minor changes, but is not as durable or as long-lasting as porcelain veneers. The doctor can examine you and let you know what he recommends for your specific circumstances.
